This explains what Digital Property Inspector collects, why, where it is kept, who else sees it, and how long we hold it. It is written to be read rather than to cover us, so if anything here is unclear, ask and we will make it plainer.
Digital Property Inspector is operated by PA Digital Future Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16475411. We are the data controller for the information described here. For anything to do with your data, email support@digitalpropertyinspector.com.
Your account. Your email address, the name you choose to give, and your password, which is stored only as a one-way hash that nobody here can read or reverse.
Your inspections. The properties you record and everything you record about them: addresses, postcodes, prices, room measurements, condition notes, safety observations, checklists, floor plans, and the photographs you take. This is your working record, and it is the reason the product exists.
Photographs. Images you take on site or import from a listing. These may show the inside of somebody's home, and occasionally people or their belongings. We treat them as the most sensitive thing we hold.
Payment. Your subscription status and the identifier Stripe gives your billing record. We never see or store your card details. Those go directly to Stripe and never touch our systems.
Support and usage. Messages you send us, and a log of when you import a listing or ask the assistant a question, which we use to apply fair-use limits and to find faults.
We do not use advertising trackers, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell anything to anybody.
To provide the service you have asked for and to take payment for it, which is our contract with you. To keep the product secure and working, and to answer support, which is our legitimate interest. To meet our own legal obligations, such as keeping accounting records.
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in London, United Kingdom, and does not leave the UK for storage. It is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted at the database level so one customer's records cannot be read by another, and that restriction is enforced by the database itself rather than by the app.
The app also keeps a copy on your own device so it works with no signal in a property. That copy is removed when you sign out.
Only these, and only the part each one needs:
We do not share your data with anyone else. We will only hand anything to a public authority where the law requires it.
While you are subscribed, we keep your inspections. An inspector wanting a report from eighteen months ago is a reasonable thing to want, and we do not delete your work to save money.
If your subscription ends, your account and the photographs stored with it are deleted within three months. That is long enough that somebody who lapses by accident or misses a card renewal loses nothing, and short enough that we are not holding photographs of people's homes for no reason.
Reports you have already downloaded are yours. They sit on your own device and are unaffected by anything we do.
You can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings. That removes your stored photographs immediately.
When you photograph a property you are recording somebody's home. You are responsible for having a proper reason to be there and to record it, and for telling occupants where that applies. We provide the tool; the lawful basis for the visit is yours.
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict what we do with it, or to object. The app can export everything you have recorded at any time without asking us. For anything else, email us and we will answer within one month.
If you think we have got something wrong, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
We use no advertising or analytics cookies. The app stores a sign-in token in your browser so you stay signed in, and keeps your inspections on your device so it works offline. Both are necessary for the product to function and neither tracks you anywhere else.
If we change anything that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell existing customers by email rather than changing it quietly.
